KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Amid a national blood shortage, a local blood center is paying thanks to its top donors.
Versiti Blood Center celebrated in Kenosha Tuesday night, Aug. 22, honoring several of its top blood donors.
They dedicated rooms to the top three donors as a way of saying thanks for their lifesaving donations over the years.
"We have three donors in particular that we're recognizing. Each of them have donated more than 35 gallons in their lifetime," said Gitesh Dubal, of Versiti Blood Center.
Versiti says they've been taking donations at their Kenosha branch for 39 years.
Nearly a quarter-million donations have been made in that time.
