MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The UW-Madison Police Department announced the retirement of a very good doggo, K-9 Ritter.

Wednesday, June 3, was the last day K-9 Ritter served the force, after over 300 deployments and nine years on the force.

Ritter and Officer Zurbuchen worked beside each other since 2017 as a explosives-detection and human trafficking team. They helped keep the UW-Madison campus safe during special events and every single Wisconsin football game during the last nine years.

Thank you Ritter for your service and enjoy a very well-deserved retirement!
