MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The solar eclipse viewing party at UWM was moved inside due to the weather on Saturday, Oct. 14.
Star gazers still watched the eclipse through a live stream from Texas.
The UW-Milwaukee planetarium provided viewers with NASA approved solar eclipse glasses. Viewers outside tried to see the eclipse through the clouds without much luck.
A staff member at the UWM planetarium described the celestial show.
"So, if you're looking at the solar eclipse, and you have the sun right here, we're here, the moon comes right in front of the sun just like that," said Autmn Carroll, a student staff member explained.
So, what we're seeing is the moon moving in front of the sun and the ring of fire is when the moon is covered and you have that view right around it," said Carroll.
The next solar eclipse is in April, so hopefully we can get a better view of it in our hometowns.
