MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena is preparing for the upcoming sports season with several new concession offerings, including a jalapeño popper bratwurst, a "Smashville Sandwich" and the venue's first dirty soda bar.

Vendors showcased the new menu items Thursday morning as the arena prepares to welcome fans back for the fall and winter sports calendar.

Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg said food and beverage options play an important role in the overall fan experience.

"Food and beverage is extremely important," Greenberg said. "A lot of the times our games start at six, so it is a matter of having good options for people. If people have a good time and the food is good, they will want to come back to another game, which is important to us."

The Milwaukee Admirals open their home schedule Oct. 10 at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
