US Coast Guard offering free boat safety checks at McKinley Marina

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Sailing season is right around the corner, but it's important to keep water safety in mind as you ride the waves of Lake Michigan. 

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct free vessel safety checks at McKinley Marina in Milwaukee Saturday, May 28.

The guards will check to make sure boats are in compliance with the recreational sailing safety requirements.

The free checks will be available from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday.
