US 45 Southbound will be Closed Friday Night in Washington County

US 45 Southbound will be closed in Washington County on Friday.

The closure of US 45 southbound is scheduled to begin Friday, August 5 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. During this time, I-41 southbound will remain open.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is scheduled to perform paving work on US 45 southbound in Washington County.  This is all part of the I-41/US-45 Rehabilitation Project.

To facilitate this work, a full closure of US 45 southbound, from just south of WIS 145 to the I-41/US 45 split, will be required.

The alternate for this detour is a easy one. Traffic will exit at WIS 145. Continue west on WIS 145 to connect with the entrance ramp for southbound I-41. Interstate 41 will merge with US 45 at the split.

Safety to the traveling public is of the utmost priority. The safest way to perform this work is by fully closing this segment of the US 45 roadway. If weather conditions prohibit this work, the work will be scheduled for the evening of August 12.
