UPDATE: Janesville Mall Reopens After Bomb Threat

Shortly before 6:00 PM Saturday evening the Janesville Mall was closed and evacuated due to a bomb threat made via Facebook.

Police and mall officials searched the building and found no threat.

Shortly before 7:30 PM the mall reopened and the mall put the following statement on Facebook:

Earlier this evening we received a threat on social media and worked with local authorities to ensure the safety of our shoppers and retailers. This required us to evacuate the mall for a short time to allow local authorities to provide the all clear. Thank you for your patience and understanding. At this time, the mall has received the all clear from the police and is again open for business.

The weekend after Thanksgiving is typically the busiest shopping weekend of the year. The mall is located at 2500 Milton Avenue in Janesville.
