UPDATE: Body of Gerald Felician Recovered in Wind Lake
On Wednesday at 5:15 PM a boating incident occurred on Wind Lake in Racine County where a 77-year-old male did not resurface after entering the water off his boat. Sheriff and Fire personnel were dispatched to Wind Lake for an immediate search and rescue for this person. Search and rescue efforts turned to search and recovery in the early morning hours of July 30th. At approximately 9:46 AM on July 30th the body of Gerald M. Felician was located by rescue divers. The incident remains under investigation but preliminary information indicates the victim died from drowning. Victim was not wearing a life jacket. Gerald Felician was a resident of Racine County and resided in the Wind Lake area.
Numerous agencies assisted in the recovery effort of Felician including specialized dive teams from northern Illinois.
