UPDATE: Body Discovered Christmas Morning in Burning Car at 54th and Capitol

On Christmas Day, December 25 at 7:00 AM, Milwaukee Police responded to a car fire near 54th and Capitol. Milwaukee firefighters also responded and when they extinguished the fire they discovered a human body inside the vehicle. The person was beyond life saving capabilities so CPR was not administered.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner was called to the scene around 9:50 AM but could not tell CBS 58 the identity, age or gender of the person.
Circumstances surrounding the fire and death are suspicious and remain under investigation by MPD.
Milwaukee Police are working with the Medical Examiners Office to determine the cause of death.
