University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Students Concerned About Increase of Crime in Neighborhood

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Students are on high-alert after finding out a student was robbed at gun point.

Overnight Milwaukee's crime map lit up for strong armed robberies. Students at UWM said they woke up to an alert.

Students near campus said they're becoming more concerned about crime creeping into their neighborhood.

UWM's armed robbery was followed by a robbery 30 minutes later on West Hadley. Vera Evans walks to work daily and said her walking companion is a prayer.

"I fear for myself as well, because it could happen to me as well but I just go everyday and hope and pray that nobody ever do that to me," said Evans.

Police are also investigating a third robbery down the way on the 1300 block of East Locust. And a fourth on the 1200 block of Greenfield. Officers also responded to two others early this morning, and police are looking for a white Nissan Sentra.

Most of the robberies happened in District Five. Milwaukee Police said they have not made any arrests.
