University of Wisconsin-Madison Warns Students of Accused Man's Release from Jail

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A University of Wisconsin-Madison student accused of sexually assaulting or harassing 10 women is out on bail.

Twenty-year-old Alec Cook of Edina, Minnesota, was released Friday after his parents posted $100,000.

His release comes a day after more charges were filed against him. Prosecutors say Cook's behavior had been escalating, but his defense attorneys say that's not the case. Cook is suspended and the university issued an email Friday telling students to call 911 if he's on campus.
