United Way of Wisconsin recognizes 211 hotline on National 211 Day

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) – Gov. Tony Evers has proclaimed Tuesday, Feb. 11, as 211 Day in Wisconsin, recognizing the importance of the hotline in strengthening communities across the state.

According to a Tuesday, Feb. 10 press release from the United Way of Wisconsin, 211 Wisconsin is a free, confidential service that connects residents with more than 20,000 resources in all 72 counties, available 24/7 in 180 languages. The service handles housing, food, elder care, crisis intervention and more.

United Way also noted that during 2025, 211 Wisconsin handled more than 298,000 requests with an additional 194,000 coming from the 211Wisconsin.org website and app.

During the Aug. 2025 floods in southeastern Wisconsin, the service collected over 26,000 damage reports that helped facilitate $180 million in FEMA aid to more than 46,000 individuals and households.
