Uber Partners with Amber Alert

Uber driver-partners in over 180 cities across the United States will receive time-sensitive and critical AMBER Alerts via SMS message while logged into the Uber app.

When an AMBER Alert is issued, driver-partners will immediately receive geographically targeted information that may help to locate and recover a missing child. The announcement on Wednesday is an extension of a pilot partnership Uber launched several months ago in Colorado.

The Uber network covers over 75% of the U.S. population and many U.S. cities are home to tens of thousands of Uber driver-partners. Driver-partners on the Uber platform are uniquely positioned to help respond to the AMBER alert, as they are actively on the streets as opposed to others who are likely at home or at work.
