Two Women Attempt to Rob BP Gas Station with Knife
A Mukwonago woman, Melina A. Duemling has been charged with attempted armed robbery and felony bail jumping.
The incident occurred on September 29 in the Town of Norway, Racine County. This was just a little over a month since she was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent.
According to the criminal complaint, Duemling attempted rob the a BP Gas Station using a knife.
Duemling told police she did all the talking during the robbery because they were worried the other women's voice would be identified as a former employee.
Deputy Scherff spoke to two employees on duty at the time of the attempted armed robbery.
One employee reported observing two individuals walk into the store.
According to the criminal complaint, one of the suspects was standing on the counter side holding the knife out and yelling.
The knife was described as a 4-5 inch black blade with a purple handle.
The other suspect attempted to open the register.
The female suspect was wearing a black stocking cap and a black coat. Both female suspects ran northbound on Loomis Road.
A Racine County Sheriff’s Office investigator reports he was able to view the video surveillance of the BP Gas Station which captured the event.
