Two suspects arrested for robbery at a loan agency following a foot pursuit

On Friday, June 30, 2017 at 4:35 pm officers with the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to a 911 report of a robbery that just occurred at Heights Finance, 1211 Rickmeyer Dr.

According to police, a male suspect entered the business and demanded cash. There was no threat of or weapon displayed during the robbery. The suspect ran out the door with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A short while later a car that matched the description of a vehicle that was possibly involved in the robbery was spotted on W. Johnson St about one mile east of the robbery location. As the vehicle was stopped a male took off running and a female remained with the car.

Officers in the area set-up a perimeter and engaged in a foot pursuit that included a Fond du Lac Police K-9 unit. Within minutes that male suspect was taken into custody at Valvoline, 591 W. Johnson, and the female was arrested at the location of the traffic stop.

We are thankful that no employees at the various businesses or innocent bystanders were injured during the robbery or ensuing foot pursuit. We are also thankful that no officers were injured.

There was a number of law enforcement officers from various agencies in the area and in some way assisted in the apprehension efforts. This incident is an example of excellent teamwork between the Fond du Lac Police Department, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation. The collaborative effort on everybody’s part brought a safe, quick, and successful resolution to a potentially dangerous and chaotic situation.

This robbery remains under active investigation.
