MILWAUKEE, (CBS 58) -- Two people are injured following a shooting on Milwaukee's north side.

It happened during the evening hours on Sun. Jun. 15, near the area of Fond du Lac and Hampton Ave.

Deputy Chief Travis Jones with the Milwaukee Fire Department confirmed one person has been taken to an area hospital after two people were shot there.

CBS 58 spoke with a man who said he was caught off guard by the sound of gunshots today.

But at the same time, he is sadly familiar with that noise in the area.

“I got off of work, fresh out the shower, while I’m in the shower I just hear a whole bunch of boom boom boom boom boom.” Robert Porter said.

Since June 6, CBS 58 reported 12 people have been shot in this part of town and at least three people have died.

“It kinda shocks me, it scares me too, because I have been living in this area for a very long time, so it’s kinda concerning how close everything has been happening to me.”

CBS 58 has reached out to Milwaukee police for more information on this shooting.
