Two killed, one hurt in head-on crash in Walworth County

WALWORTH COUNTY (CBS 58) -- Two men are dead after a head-on crash in Walworth County.

The crash happened just after 5:00 Friday on Highway 12/67 about a half mile north of Highway ES in Sugar Creek.

Deputies say when they arrived, they found two pick-up trucks with extensive damage in the middle of the road.

Investigators say the driver of one of the trucks, 24-year-old Eufemio Jimenez Ferrel of Round Lake, Illinois, crossed the center line and hit a truck being driven by 52-year-old Ronald Passfield of Genoa City, Wisconsin. Passfield also had a passenger, 51-year-old Jill Krane also of Genoa City.

Ferrel was pronounced dead at the scene while Passfield and Krane were taken to an area hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, Passfield died  at the hospital. Police say Krane’s injuries were severe, but non-life threatening.

Traffic was closed for about three and a half hours due to the crash. It is still under investigation.
