2 days left to shop St. Joseph’s annual rummage sale in Wauwatosa
WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58)— Each year, St. Joseph’s Parish and School hosts its annual rummage sale. It’s become a destination for people from all over to stop and shop.
“Somebody came from Tennessee,” said Fran T. “They planned their family reunion around coming to the rummage sale, and number two, they said, going to Summerfest.”
The sale started Thursday, June 19. A line of cars formed down the block as people waited to shop everything from antiques to artwork, toys and tools.
“People were lined up at 4:40 in the morning to get in yesterday. It was unbelievable. It was a record year for us yesterday.”
Still, thousands of items are left for shoppers. Volunteers go through all of the donated items. They organize and clean them, and they price everything reasonably for the community to shop.
You can even buy plants and outdoor furniture. On Saturday, June 21, everything besides the vintage room will be on sale.
The rummage sale proceeds go to support the church, the school and all of its outreach programs.
As soon as the sale ends, St. Joseph's volunteers begin collecting for next year’s sale.
