Two arrested in connection with child shooting near 45th and Chambers

MILWAUKEE -- A four-year-old boy is fighting for his life after suffering self-inflicted gunshot wounds near 45th and Chambers Wednesday evening. Police also report they've arrested two adults in connection with this case.

 

The Milwaukee Police Department said the four-year-old found a handgun laying around an apartment. He shot himself while handling the handgun around 5:00 p.m. He was rushed to Children's Hospital, and is undergoing treatment. The child remains in grave condition.

 

A 35-year-old Milwaukee man has been arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and warrants. Police also arrested a 49-year-old woman who lives in the apartment while the child was shot. She was arrested for leaving a loaded gun within reach of a child.
