Wednesday morning at 5:30 AM, Greenfield Police Officers were notified of a burglary in progress at the Braeger Ford Auto Dealership at 4201 South 27th Street. When officers arrived, a car that was just stolen by the burglary suspects fled the scene where it later crashed in Greendale with the occupants fleeing on foot.
One suspect was apprehended from the car.
The suspects arrived at the dealership in a different stolen car out of Waukesha. This vehicle was stopped with the aid of spike strips nearby the original burglary. The driver was not apprehended at that time.
A suspect that was found on foot in the lot was apprehended after a foot chase. During the investigation, it was found that a nearby similar burglary had occurred at the Enterprise Rent‐A‐Car located at 4377 South 27th Street. It is believed that although entry was made into the business no vehicles were stolen.
The investigation is ongoing and additional suspects are still being sought.
