MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – It’s been one year since Donald Trump was elected President.
Marquette University Associate Professor of Political Science Paul Nolette called the presidents first year “rocky,” citing the Russia investigation and other scandals.
Nolette said that Trump needs to get a “big win” passed in Congress; like tax reform.
“He’s insulted Republican leadership in the House and the Senate, and the problem with that is that it’s going to make it harder to get his priorities passed through Congress,” said Nolette.
Nolette also said that he’s not surprised Democrat’s won two Gubernatorial races last night. He said the party that’s in control tends to do poorly in off-year elections, but he also said that elections like last night’s show how unpopular President Trump is.
