MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Milwaukee holiday tradition returns on Friday, December 18 with a twist due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Slice of Ice at Red Arrow Park is now underway, but people who want to skate, must reserve a 60-minute time in advance.
These are the first two on the ice at Red Arrow Park in #Milwaukee! Due to the pandemic, they’re limiting the number of people on the ice at one time and you must sign up for a 60-minute skate slot in advance. More today on @CBS58pic.twitter.com/2AJ5EfsgK1

“This is one of the true joys of wintertime,” Walworth County resident David Gallagher said.
Several changes are in place to promote social distancing including only allowing 25 people on the ice at once and the normally inside changing area is now in an outdoor tent.
“With it being outside I think that helps mitigate some of the risk,” Milwaukee resident Erin Megenity said. “I’ve been really excited to have something to do outside in the winter besides just standing around with my toddler.”
Slice of Ice runs through March. Reservations can be made online. More information can be found on the Slice of Ice website.
