Truck driver who heard voices inside of semi walls charged with OWI

RACINE COUNTy, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A semi-truck driver who called to report hearing voices in the walls of his semi has now been charged.

Shayne Dewitt is facing multiple charges including operating with restricted controlled substance in blood - 4th offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of THC, and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Racine County Sheriff Deputies took a report of a man needing help on the I-94 NB exit ramp to County Highway G.

Upon arrival, the truck driver told authorities that a person is in the walls of his truck and he thinks that it's his friend Jay.

Deputies searched the semi and did not locate anyone. They did, however, see that the back wall paneling was removed as if Dewitt was trying to get to the people in the walls.

Deputies located an open can of Miller High Life, a syringe, unopened beer, a baggie with a green leafy substance, cocaine, and other drug paraphernalia.

Authorities also located a roach with green leafy material in Dewitt's front pocket. When asked about it, Dewitt allegedly said "Oh my god, Jay...it looks like a blunt...d**** him, he got me good."

Dewitt will have his preliminary hearing on June 4.
