BROWN DEER, (CBS 58) -- Forty-four-year-old Monias Hannah, of Brown Deer, has been named as the person who was struck and killed by a falling tree on Sunday.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office said Hannah was filming a tree removal service.
"Our crews arrived and found some bystanders performing CPR. Ultimately, we did begin resuscitation but determined that the individual's injuries were pretty substantial," said Battalion Chief Dan Tyk of North Shore Fire Rescue.
North Shore Fire Rescue and Brown Deer police responded to the call Sunday afternoon near 67th and Dean.
"There was a relatively large branch. I guess I say branch, but it was a huge tree limb, probably 12 inches in diameter, that was lying near the victim," said Battalion Tyk.
The branch fell 20 feet, the blow proved to be fatal. According to the report, Hannah hired two private individuals to remove the trees.
The medical examiner's report said Hannah was not living in the home. It was under renovation to become a group home.
He is survived by his children and the mother of his children.
