Trains in Wauwatosa blow their horns despite being in quiet zone

WAUWATOSA -- The City of Wauwatosa is supposed to be a 24-hour quiet zone for trains, but trains have been sounding their horns anyway.

Wauwatosa has two train lines running through it.

One of them is the Union Train line, on the west side. The company says it's using its horns as a safety precaution to warn construction workers who are working on projects in the area.

The second train line, Canadian Pacific is on the east side. It's sounding off its horns at all hours, and shouldn't be.

City leaders as well as the railroad company is asking the community to reach out to city hall or Canadian Pacific when they hear a train horn. You can call (800) 766-7912 or [email protected]. They're logging that information and trying to get to the bottom of it.
