Town of Waukesha uses entire winter salt allotment

TOWN OF WAUKESHA -- The Town of Waukesha reports they've used their full 2013-2014 winter season salt allotment. A salt shortage has affected several communities forcing some to travel as far as Iowa to get more salt.
The Town of Waukesha says they were able to purchase 500 additional tons and will be mixing the salt with sand. The town will now only salt intersections, hills and curves.
The town urges drivers to use extra caution when driving during the rest of the winter season.
