According to the criminal complaint, the group moved to a different home near 7th and Galena on January 25. In the early morning hours, the defendant known as 'Leon' allegedly heated up a knife from the stove and burned both of the girls' legs with it while they were in a walk-in closet. Another defendant allegedly stood outside of the closed door, preventing them from leaving.

According to one of the victims, Leon then rubbed salt and poured lemon juice onto their burn wounds. When the victims were screaming and crying, Leon allegedly threatened them with a gun.
