Three Homes Robbed in Mount Pleasant

On Saturday, September 12th at 3:41 AM the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to a home in the 6200 block of Larchmont Drive. The residents reported items were taken from their residence while they were asleep.

The suspect or suspects first made entry into the home after which they entered a pickup truck parked in the garage and took several items, including a handgun and wallet.

About 20 minutes later police were checking the area when an officer noticed a garage door open in the 6300 block of Larchmont Drive.

The officer made contact with the residents of the home. The residents then checked both of their vehicles which were parked in the garage. They discovered the vehicle had been entered and rummaged through.

A third burglary was also reported in the 6400B block of Wonder Lane early Saturday morning. A bicycle may have been taken from the residence.

Mount Pleasant Police are planning on giving extra attention to the area as well as other residential areas throughout the Village.

Police suggest citizens should remove or conceal any valuable items in their vehicles, lock their car doors, and close their garage doors. Police also suggest exterior lighting can minimize the chances of you becoming a victim.

All three burglary cases are under investigation.
