Three from Milwaukee charged with forgery after woman attempts to cash fraudulent check twice in same day
BROWN DEER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Three people from Milwaukee have been arrested and charged with forgery.
Brown Deer Police were called to the Credit Union Service Center around 1:39 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of a woman who cashed a check for $794 and then fled the area. The check was later determined to be fraudulent.
Credit Union Service Center then called police to report around 5:52 p.m. that the same woman from before was attempting to cash another fraudulent check.
Police arrested a 31-year-old Milwaukee woman, a 39-year-old Milwaukee woman, and a 22-year-old Milwaukee man for forgery.
The 39-year-old woman was also found to have outstanding warrants with the Dane County Sheriff's Office and the West Allis Police Department.
Formal charges are pending.
