Three displaced after fire near 39th and Meinecke

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- At least three adults were displaced by a fire in a 2.5 story home near 39th and Meinecke Avenue Friday.

It happened around 4:40 p.m. The Milwaukee Fire Department says no one was injured, and the residents were able to escape the building before firefighters arrived.

The department says the fire began in the basement and spread up to the first floor of the home.

Damages are estimated near $40,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
