Three arrested in Mount Pleasant with over $1,000 of stolen merchandise

Three Milwaukee residents are facing charges of retail theft, fleeing an officer and bail jumping after they were arrested for shoplifting in Mount Pleasant.   According to the Mount Pleasant Police, the three suspects were arrested Thursday afternoon after a reported retail theft at Kohl’s Department Store in Mount Pleasant.

In a news release, the Mount Pleasant Police  said officers  attempted to stop two of the suspects as they were leaving the store with over $1,000 worth of merchandise.   They jumped into a car driven by the third suspect and attempted to get away, but their escape was blocked by heavy traffic.  They were arrested about a block away from the store.

Two of the suspects are 22-years-old and the third is 17-years-old.  According  to the police, two were already out on bail for retail theft and one of them had two active warrants.

During the arrest, officers found additional new clothing believed to have been stolen from a different business.

The suspects are being held at the Racine County Jail.
