MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – More than 4,000 people are without power Monday morning in Milwaukee.
WE Energies says the outages are due to several utility pole fires. The first reports of outages came in around 4 a.m. According to WE Energies, crews are working on the poles in order to restore power.
The company says pole fires can occur when there is high humidity, fog, misty rain or light snow at times when nearby roads are salt covered. WE Energies says the combination conducts enough electricity to start a fire.
