Thousands expected for Cedarburg's annual Strawberry Festival June 23 & June 24

CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Thousands are expected to descend upon Cedarburg June 23 and 24 for the 33rd Annual Strawberry Festival.

The free, family-oriented festival draws about 100,000 every year to celebrate strawberries, enjoy live music, look at and by original artwork from hundreds of artists and enjoy strawberries homegrown in the area.

This year, the event is starting "Nail It or Fail It" cupcake decorating competitions, a new #CedarburgLoves art movement, and treats like the Strawberry Brat Corndog and Strawberry Schaum Torte. Both will be available at the Festival Food Booth. Proceeds from the booth go to help Festivals of Cedarburg which is a non-profit group dedicated to helping Cedarburg's economy.

Strawberry Festival highlights more than 250 of the best local and Midwest artists who bring their skills, and thousands of works of arts to the streets of Cedarburg, including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber art, fine glass, woodwork, mixed media, and photography.

Throughout the festival foodies will find strawberry pie, strawberry crepes, strawberry slushies and chocolate-covered strawberries as well as many other locally made delicacies.

The popular Sunday morning all-you-can-eat Strawberry Pancake Breakfast takes place on the north end of the Festival grounds from 8:00-11:00 a.m. (weather permitting) and is served by the Cedar Creek Settlement merchants.
