“Think of a cross between bowling and darts:" Axe throwing bar coming to Milwaukee's east side

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Want to try your hand at axe throwing? You'll soon be able to, lumberjack or not.

AXE MKE will soon be open on Milwaukee's East Side at 1924 E. Kenilworth Place.

"Think of a cross between bowling and darts," said Owner Marla Poytinger.

AXE MKE will be home to several throwing cages (also known as “pits”), a full bar, and a private event space. The 4,000+ sq. ft. venue also features large windows, cream city brick, exposed steel support beams, and two skylights.

“Axe throwing is a sport that has traditionally been done outside, or in industrial warehouses. We’re bringing it downtown and adding some exciting new elements to make it perfect for an adrenaline-filled adventure, date, private event or even corporate team building,” Marla said.

AXE MKE is slated to open this summer.
