MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee worker is recovering after he was shot during an armed robbery on the city's north side. Police are still looking for the person caught on camera shooting the store clerk and the other suspect who was with him.

Gunfire broke out at Multani Food Mart on N 19th and W Hampton Friday night around 7 p.m. A mother and her 39-year-old son were working in their family-owned business that night. Surveillance video shows two people walk into the store and go up to the front counter. One of the people pulled a gun out and shot the male cashier. The thief then went behind the counter, took about $1,600 worth of cash, shot the male clerk again, and ran out.

The clerk's mother was not hurt, but the man was sent to the hospital for a leg injury. He was shot in the leg two times. The victim's brother said the man was released from the hospital Saturday night, but doctors told him he won't be able to walk for at least two weeks.

Customers inside the store Saturday were visibly upset by the armed robbery and shooting.

"It's devastating because I look at them as family too," Customer Mickel Bird said. "I come down here, my momma comes down here."

Many customers said Multani Food Mart is a neighborhood store that's normally quiet.

"It's stuff that happens every day, but to a store, you come to every day, that you wouldn't expect,"  Customer Alex Hughey said.
