The Village of Caledonia Names Their New K9 Officer

CALEDONIA - The Village of Caledonia Police Department is getting their first K9 in the department's history. As a thank you to the community for all of the fundraising and donations, the department asked citizens to help pick the name.

After 1,000 responses, one name won by a landslide. The new K9 will be named Louie! The name Louie was competing against Thor, Zeus, and an unofficial name submission of Doggy Mcdogface.

Officer Radke, the K9 handler, is now off to Virginia to meet his new partner for the first time and to begin several weeks of training.

Louie is expected to join the force sometime in November.
