MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's streetcar, The Hop, is ready for its first major snowstorm.
Officials say the streetcar tracks and plowed and salted just like the rest of the city streets. Snowplow drivers assigned to the downtown area have been trained on plowing on or near the tracks and specialized equipment is used to remove snow from the gaps in the tracks and around station platforms.
The streetcars are heated and designed to operate in the cold.
