MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Tuesday morning, Sept. 29, people picked up a variety of food and non-perishables at a grocery giveaway on Milwaukee's north side. It's run by an organization called "The Gathering."
Every Tuesday in September, it has been picking up food donated by Amazon and giving it to whoever needs it.
The Gathering also provides about 80,000 free meals a year.
"The need is great and having the opportunity to give away food like this with a partnership with Amazon and Feeding America and the Running Rebels here with us at The Gathering, we really make it happen and give the neighbors what they need," said Lyn Hildenbrand, executive director of The Gathering.
About 100 to 150 people have been going to the grocery giveaways each week. If you'd like more information, or maybe you'd be interested in volunteering, CLICK HERE.
