"Thank You Coach Letsch" Celebrations Held After Beloved Coach Retires

RACINE - He's been a staple on the basketball sidelines in Southeast Wisconsin for five decades so you'd better believe Bob Letsch is well respected in Racine.

Players, coaches, parents, and the Racine community honored Letsch at Saint Catherine's High School this weekend as he heads off to retirement. Coach Letsch is a member of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and is the second-winningest high school hoops coach in Wisconsin History.

"It's something that you don't expect. I've got wonderful people that have worked here who have been parents of mine, and players have put this whole thing on," said Coach Letsch.

"When you look at the legacy that coach Letsch leaves with Racine, It's not only hard work and success but also leadership and determination," said Racine Mayor John Dickert.
