Teenagers arrested for strong armed robberies in Riverwest
Three teenagers were arrested by Milwaukee Police in connection to two strong armed robberies of cell phones that happened just minutes apart in the Riverwest Neighborhood.
Those three suspects, two 14-year-old boys and a 15-year-old girl, all from Milwaukee, were taken into custody. Officers found the stolen phone from the first incident discarded in the 2600 block of North Bremen Street.
District Five officers responded to the 800 block of East Chambers Street around 10:10 PM on September 15 where a 29-year-old Milwaukee woman told officers she was walking when a male and female approached her and demanded her phone. The suspects struggled with the victim and eventually took the phone from her before fleeing from the scene.
District Five officers were notified of another strong armed robbery that happened a short distance away around 10:20 p.m. A 20-year-old woman was approached in the 2700 block of North Bremen Street by a male who grabbed her cell phone from her hand before fleeing with a group of juveniles. Officers on patrol in the area located three suspects, who matched the descriptions given by the victims, in the 1900 block of N. 1st Street around 11:45 PM.
