Teen charged after allegedly firing shots during Cinco de Mayo festivities on Milwaukee's south side

Deon Nabors, 17, is charged with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, possession of a machine gun, and possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18.
According to a criminal complaint, officers were conducting crowd control for Cinco de Mayo festivities near 16th and Scott around 11 p.m. May 5 when an officer heard gunshots.
There were "hundreds of people" in the general area of Cesar Chavez Drive at the time, according to the complaint, and "hundreds" in the immediate area of Scott Street and Cesar Chavez Drive.
People were reportedly heard saying, "they're shooting" as they ran from the area.
The complaint says an officer saw a suspect, later identified as Deon Nabors, fire at least seven shots into the air in a "rapid, automatic fashion."
The officer reportedly told Nabor to stop, before shooting and injuring him. Nabor was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The officer involved is a 40-year-old man with over seven years of service. He was placed on administrative duty as the Milwaukee Area Investigative Team and Wauwatosa Police Department investigate the incident.
A firearm was recovered, described in the complaint as a handgun with an extended clip and a full auto switch on the rear, "rendering it full automatic."
A 22-year-old Greenfield man firing shots near 15th and Scott was also shot by an officer and taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
