Teen accused of stealing Milwaukee public employee information pleads not guilty

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee teenager charged in connection with stealing city employee personal information is pleading not guilty.

17-year-old Marsalis Templer has been ordered to stand trial. Police say he admitted to being in a stolen Jeep with several other people, and taking a computer bag as his cut. Inside the bad was a flash drive containing highly sensitive information of thousands of City of Milwaukee employees. 

Milwaukee police recovered the stolen thumb drive on January 6th while searching a home on the 2900 block of N. 20th St. Police were at the home investigating violent felony crimes.

Templer says he had knew nothing about the thumb drive in the computer bag he stashed under his bed until police found it.
