Get ready for a smorgasbord of different foods and cultures on Milwaukee's south side. The "Taste of The Gateway" will be held Thursday evening at the Garden District Farmers Market at South 6th Street and Howard Avenue. The Gateway is an area close to the airport considered to be a melting pot of various nationalities along with their traditions. And this annual event is considered to be a reflection of what's happening in this neighborhood.
Beside food from a dozen different restaurants, there will be plenty of arts and crafts, including works from the Milwaukee Blacksmith. Admission is free, but meal tickets come in $5 packets. The event runs from 5 to 7:30pm.
