SUV hangs over guard rail of Milwaukee highway
Wisconsin Department of Transportation MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An SUV involved in a two-vehicle crash ended up hanging off the side of a Milwaukee highway Monday morning, Dec. 8.
It happened on I-794 near 2nd Street during the Monday morning commute. Officials say a red sedan veered into the SUV, causing the crash.
Video from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) shows the black vehicle with its two passenger side wheels hanging off the guard rail.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office (MCSO), deputies broke the rear window of the SUV to allow the driver to crawl out to safety.
The driver of the striking vehicle, according to the MCSO, indicated a vehicle in front of him swerved and or suddenly braked, causing him to hit the SUV.
The driver of the striking vehicle will be cited for unsafe lane deviation.
Eventually, crews were able to get the car off the rail and onto the back of a tow truck.
No injuries were reported.
