MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An SUV involved in a two-vehicle crash ended up hanging off the side of a Milwaukee highway Monday morning, Dec. 8.

It happened on I-794 near 2nd St. during the Monday morning commute. Officials say a red sedan veered into the SUV, causing the crash.

Video from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) shows the black vehicle with its two passenger side wheels hanging off the guard rail.

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office (MCSO), deputies broke the rear window of the SUV to allow the driver, the only occupant of the SUV, to crawl out to safety.

The driver said she is an FBI agent and was on her way to work when she was hit by the sedan. That driver told deputies he was trying to avoid rear-ending another vehicle.

Body camera footage captured the aftermath of the crash and rescue of the driver.

"Someone slammed on their breaks in front of me, I was trying to slam mine on, they were starting to rock, and I turned into this lane because I thought I'm gonna hit them."

The driver of the striking vehicle will be cited for unsafe lane deviation.

Eventually, crews were able to get the car off the rail and onto the back of a tow truck.

No injuries were reported.
