Suspected Drunken Driver crashed into Several Parked Vehicles, police say

MADISON, Wis. -

(CHANNEL 3000) A Madison woman was arrested Saturday night for operating while intoxicated after her SUV crashed into several parked vehicles on the east side, according to a release from Madison police.

Officers were called at 11:23 p.m. to Bruns Avenue near the intersection with North Walbridge Avenue by residents who reported seeing an SUV collide with several parked vehicles. Officers said they found a damaged minivan and RV when they arrived at the scene.

A witness directed police to the SUV which had left the scene, but was still in the area. Police said the SUV had significant front end damage, a cracked windshield that had a hunk of insulation stuck in it that appeared to have come from the RV that had been struck and a right front wheel that had no tire left.

Police said the driver, Samaya D. Sauer, 19, said she was being unlawfully stopped and yelled profanities and obscenities.

Sauer was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated and resisting, and she was cited for underage drinking.
