Suspected drunk driver strikes pedestrian on east side

MILWAUKEE—A pedestrian is seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on Milwaukee’s east side.

 


The 27-year-old Milwaukee man was crossing in a crosswalk on Brady Street near Arlington around 2:30 a.m. Sunday when he was hit.

 


The vehicle did not stop, but ran a light a couple of blocks away and was stopped by an officer on patrol.

 


The office noted the smashed windshield and when asked the female driver stated that she may have hit someone on Brady Street.

 


The 27-year-old Milwaukee woman failed sobriety tests and was arrested for causing injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.

 


She will be referred to the Milwaukee County District attorney’s office for charges in the coming days.

 


The victim suffered serious injuries, but they are not believed to be life threatening.
