Suspect steals vehicle and leads police on pursuit

DODGE COUNTY-- The Dodge County Sheriff Department is searching for a suspect who stole a vehicle and lead police on a short pursuit.


Authorities said that William Rennhack stole a vehicle around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was then located in the Town of Oconomowoc where he lead police on short pursuit.


A short time later the vehicle was found in the area of Monroe and Lafollette Road in the Town of Lebanon in Dodge County.


Officials said that the Rennhack fled on foot. He is described as a white male about 21-year-old with red hair and brown eyes about 6'2 weighing approximately 170 pounds.


Authorities were initially engaged in a manhunt to find Rennhack. They called that off after several hours, but continue their active investigation as well as patrols in the area.


The Dodge County Sheriff's Department said that Rennhack is potentially armed and has active warrants for his arrest. Citizens are asked not to make contact with him.


Sheriff Officials are asking citizens in the area to report any suspicious persons and to secure their homes, garages and vehicles. They said do not make contact with the suspect and to call 911.
