Suspect in stolen violin investigation arrested previously for similar crime

Milwaukee-- CBS 58 has learned one of the suspects accused of stealing a multi-million dollar violin was previously arrested for a similar theft.

We aren't naming the suspect because he has yet to be formally charged in connection with the missing Stradivarius Violin stolen from Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's Concert Master on January 27th.

According to a criminal complaint from 1999, then the man was charged with Concealing Stolen Property after he tried to sell a stolen $25,000 statue back to the gallery owner.

That suspect is one of three others accused of  stealing the Stradivarius Violin.

They could be formally charged as soon as Thursday.
