Suspect in drug investigation leads police on high speed chase

GREENFIELD -- A drug investigation turned into a high speed chase, then a brief manhunt on Tuesday, July 22. Police tell CBS 58 that the Waukesha METRO drug unit was trying to complete a drug investigation in Muskego when a suspect fled in his vehicle.
The suspect headed north on Moorland Rd and got onto I-43 heading north. Police followed the suspect on eastbound I-894. When the suspect exited I-894 at 60th St., and crashed when he tried to get back on the freeway.
That's when the suspect and his passenger tried to escape police on foot. The suspect broke his foot after breaking his leg. The second person in the vehicle was found an hour later in Greenfield.
