Suspect Crashes Stolen Vehicle on North Murray in Shorewood

A suspect crashed a stolen vehicle in Shorewood on North Murray on Sunday after a police pursuit.  

According to police, Shorewood Police officer observed two vehicles circling the area of E. Capitol Drive and North Ridgefield Circle.

The vehicles were operating without their head lamps on when the officer attempted to make a traffic stop.

Both vehicles fled from the officer when he activated his emergency lights and siren.

The vehicles went in opposite directions and the officer was only able to follow one of the vehicles. The fleeing vehicle crashed in the 3700 block of N. Murray Ave.

Driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot from the officer after it crashed into a tree.

The vehicle that crashed was reported stolen through City of Milwaukee.

A K9 search of the area resulted in the arrest of one adult male, who was operating the stolen vehicle. Criminal charges were referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
